My experience with eHarmony dates back around two months. I've been using the website for a little more than a month, and I've been dating someone there for approximately three weeks. As a result of all the unfavourable reviews, I initially had some doubts about this dating website. Although I was likewise concerned that it wouldn't work out, I decided to give it a shot after reading all the encouraging reviews. The majority of users, in my experience, are trying to connect with like-minded individuals, which is precisely what we were both looking for. It's good to be able to meet someone who understands how difficult it is to juggle work and school because we are both quite busy. The main drawback to this service, in my opinion, is that when users first start corresponding via email or chat, there isn't much conversation between them. Until people understand that they genuinely like one another, it takes some time. Nevertheless, once they do, things go more quickly since they feel at ease discussing anything and anything on the website!
I had a one-year subscription to eharmony, and in that time received about 10 matches, half of which were scammers, looking for money or online sex. I reported everyone of them and the selection never got better. I learned not to trust anyone on this site. Do not join. There is no screening at the eharmony site and there are many many bad actors on the app.

Hello, I signed thinking it's a one month plan and cancelled it believing I'm all set. Then out of no where I received notices that I still owe over $148 for 6 month plan. And I was sent to collections to my shock. I just setup to pay off the balance and I can't even use the site anymore. They're scammers and I wish I can sue them!
Tip for consumers:
Please. Stay away from E-Harmony. They will scam you out of your money!
I admit that I did not log into my account on a daily basis, but periodically would log in and browse matches. When my account expired I miraculously started receiving numerous matches, messages and contacts. After the first expiration of my 6 month account and I started receiving messages I decided to renew for another 6 months. Once again, the messages dwindled and disappeared and were almost non-existent. Low and behold my second 6 month account expired and I now receive regular messages and matches that I cannot reply to. I guess this is their scam to keep you coming back...Not this time eHarmony
They blur the picture before you sign. Brag about their success ratios. All are tricks to deceive you and squeeze money out of you. Only a few women are using this app, so I almost had no dates there over a course of 4 month. This is while in other apps I have several a week even if I use the free version. I asked them to return my money back as they provided no service and they refused.
Barely any men online for matches. The ones that are look like something out of the walking dead. Now for almost a month I have no been able to log in and the daiting site has done nothing about it. For 25 pound a month I am being robbed. But it doesn't matter as the site is awful. Please single men or woman stay well clear it's dodgy as hell saying that so are the men usually on these sites
Tip for consumers:
Just awful site and no communication
I can not log in for ages and they have done nothing to solve the problem.
They are only concerned about taking your money that's it.
The men on the site look awful the very few that are in the site .
Their claims are totally baseless. They are only out for your money and don't have any clear adherence to your boundaries for preferences. No quality matches Even the deadlines for your subscription are not met. They charged me long after. Total scam
Tip for consumers:
They claim there’s a refund policy but it’s bogus
After a lengthy review process they ask you to sign up at a ridulous monthly rate and then charge six months minimum. I was cross-eyed after the review process and didn't pay attention. In two minutes of "joining" I wanted out. No way to filter for Asian women which I specifically wanted. I'm new at dating websites.
Avoid using E Harmony at all costs!
I joined last year when they had an offer on, I think it was £60 for the year. I turned off the auto renewal as I always do as I don't agree with company's automatically renewing a service for a years time when it might not be required.
I have been bombarded with emails saying I now owe them £166.80 as i have renewed for another year and I need to make the payment before further action is taken. I've requested to speak to a real human to explain the situation but all I get is an auto generated email response and the customer service number doesn't even ring.
They have now passed my case onto a debt collection company who are now sending me emails. Tried to call them 5 times and left messages but so far no one has called me back. Disgusting companies ripping people off.
I signed up for what I thought was a month, only to be billed over $200. Read the fine print. It is impossible to call them so I left an email explains my plight and they said no refunds. I am attractive, thin and realistic. I have had very little activity and believe there are a lot of bots there as literally no one responds. It's a scary place. I don't recommend it at all.
Eharmony holds itself out as a good dating site. I found it to be quite the opposite. Zoosk provided over 70 contacts. Eharmony less than 10!. Then Eharmony refused to cancel the contract. Beware of this site
Beware if you try it and are not pleased with the results, too bad you can not cancel your yearly subscription for any reason. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE all around
This company isn't interested in anything but their yearly fee.
I realized early into my subscription I was not ready to be on any apps to date and reached out to customer service and they denied cancellation. Now they are sending the last three payments for my unused account to a debt collector. Repulsive.
EHarmony is the best marketed / worst product I have experienced. Having a minimum search range of 20km (2 hours commute one way!) is plainly impractical.
I spent 1 hour on the site, found six people near me or matching my life style (I don't drink alcohol), immediately requested a refund within 14 days.
EHarmony then charge me £65 for a nonsense psych evaluation. Do yourself a favour use Hinge, Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagel, OKCupid or Plenty of Fish
Tip for consumers:
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid
Do you want to change your birthday? They want you to send a photocopy of your id. Apparently, this company has not heard of PRIVACY!
By far the worst and most unfriendly customer support that exists. The site is horrible with a bad user interface, poor messaging features, and lack of profiles. Try another dating site.
Tip for consumers:
Worst dating site ever.
I joined eharmony july 2022. Paid for 1 year premium $385. Decided to delete my profile and cancel my subscription a few months later and stopped receiving emails... until...
Last week (Sept 2023) i got an email saying my final payment failed. I said "huh", they said "oh yeah we auto renewed you and charged you $290 so far amd you owe us another $95" I said "no this is a mistake I canceled long ago, haven't used ANY of your services in many months, and am not interested in using them ever again" they said "were not refunding you anything, as a courtesy weve extended your membership until April 2024" I email appealed to the boss of eharmonys customer care dept. and was told "the decision is final no refunds given and no further correspondence will be issued". Who would steal from their customers like this?
I sign up with them and contacted three different members and the next day they all disappeared?! Or the don`t exist! On second day I tried to get my money back and still waiting, Just after two days of signing up
Preying on Disable people and Hopeless Romantics. Site is a scam.
They are Liers. Please read the fine writing up the subscription. Scammed me out of 348.00.

After trying to delete this dating app I was told I could not delete it but didn't know about the auto renewal. Was automatically charged $805 on my credit card even though I tried to delete it and haven't used it in months.
If you ask me this is nothing short of a scam plus the site itself sucks. I highly recommend people save there money and use bumble instead. Bumble has a way better setup with more users.
Hope this was helpful and will deter people from ever using eharmony.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use this site at all
I wish I could add something new, but alp the other reviews cover it. STAY AWAY! I live in a large metroplex with millions of people around. The majority of "matches" don't have pictures, many profiles are scams, and their customer service is beyond terrible. It's really surprising how they are even still in business with their business model and the resulting reviews. Use a dating site with actual quality users and offer weekly or monthly memberships.
Tip for consumers:
They refused to refund any of my money for such a poor service
This is not a competitively priced dating site. After 3 months I could not find a partner to match my criteria. They tell you to change your criteria to have a better chance of finding a match. Once you sign in with them you will not be able to cancel. Too many fake accounts of course. It was a waste of time and money for me.
Tip for consumers:
A rip off site
I could not get the product to run. I called tech support and got two people form India that could not fix anything.
Tip for consumers:
The service line was just as awful as the product. They send you to India.
So I only used the app for 2 weeks and had a bad experience on a date. I requested a refund because I didn't use the app for the three months and eharmony basically offered me three additional months instead of a refund for at least the two months I didn't use the app. I have since closed my account and filed a dispute with my PayPal account hoping they can resolve the dispute. As a customer I feel you shouldn't be charged for something you didn't use. A month okay but three months. It's just not right. Their app is expensive and you still run into people that are fake and are just looking to take advantage of a woman.
Tip for consumers:
Not a good app. Same as a free app.
I've met my fair share of weirdos through online dating, so a friend of mine recommended maybe to try eharmony. She figured that because you had to pay for it and put more time into creating your bio, it would attract serious daters. Eharmony won't let you see any of your matches until you sign up for their membership, and the only options are 6 months, 1 year or 2 years. That should have been sign enough not to do it… Who wants to be searching for 2 years off the bat? Once you do sign up, the matches and general users of the site are HORRIBLE. I hate to even say this, but bottom of the barrel folks who have probably tried everything else and failed. Once you sign up, it's very difficult to cancel. They make you email or send a letter to their office. Still haven't received a response… it's been months. Also, if you don't cancel before your membership expires, it auto renews and it's not cheap. Do yourself a favour, DO NOT SIGN UP! This website may have been popular in 2000, but it's no longer relevant. The usability of the site and app are extremely poor, and the quality of matches is even worse.
The "chemistry" matching is a joke. I've yet
To find ANYONE that has similar interests or ideals. I don't drink alcohol and there is no criteria to weed that out so I continue I have to address if after matching/chatting. I am more "left" leaning and I have been matched twice with almost offensive right-wing nuts. The caliber of men I've come across is not impressive. AND they don't give you an option to do a month so they lock you in to bleed you dry! DON'T DO IT!
Tip for consumers:
Don’t do it! They lock you in to a 6-month membership before even seeing the sight so when you realize it’s total and utter crap, there’s no way to get out!
